Melissa Daniel

January 29, 1989 — June 25, 2022

Miss Melissa May Daniel, age 33, passed away on June 25, 2022. She was born in Flagstaff, Arizona to Clifford Daniel and the late, Linda Daniel.

Melissa is survived by her children, Ivory Linda-Rose Lynea Ernest (14), Emerald Rae Daniel (8); siblings, Bryan K. Kelley, Jenny A. Bentley, Sarah M. Keaton, Seth J. Kelley, and Jesse R. Kelley.

Some of Melissa's hobbies and interests include...
Rockhounding (rock hunting). She loved hunting for interesting and rare rocks alike. She was happy to hunt for everything from minerals to fossilized rocks. Rockhounding helped satisfy her love for the outdoors and her childlike curiosity and adventurousness because in many ways she was a kid at heart.

Snorkeling allowed her to explore and get a glimpse of any underwater world she was able to visit. She was always very excited to explore any body of water to enjoy the abundance of life and the variety of colors and creatures that could be discovered. She was even brave enough to free dive with sharks in Hawaii with her brothers.

Melissa loved fishing of any sort but particularly enjoyed fishing for catfish. She shared many fishing stories about her late-night catfishing adventures and fishing trips in general. She enjoyed applying her skills and loved when she hooked into a big one and landed it. You could hear the joy and glee in her voice as she would recount the stories of all the fish that did and did not get away.

Gardening was a passion of hers. She loved to surround herself with the scent of fresh soil and the ever-growing display of plants just waiting to be planted in her yard. She was like a child at play with gritty dirt beneath her nails and beads of sweat above her brows; not even the hot, humid days of summer or painstaking hours of weeding and watering could keep her away from her garden.

Melissa was most well known for being a very hard worker. She worked hard at any job she had and always tried to do well at whatever tasks she was given. She was prepared to do absolutely any job to provide for her girls. She didn't have a lot, but she was very generous with what she had. She would often times try to help those that she saw as less fortunate.

Melissa's memorial will be held at Silver Creek Metro Park. For all those who were not able to attend and should desire to make contributions, please contact the family via Facebook.
