William Rochford

July 5, 1941 — September 16, 2025

William (Bill) Sheldon Rochford Jr. was born July 5,1941 in Gary IN to William and Martha Rochford. He lost his battle to cancer on September 16, 2025 at the age of 84. He is survived by his daughter Tia Rochford Bahr. He was the oldest child of six children and survived by his brothers Patrick, Greg and Mark. Preceded in death was his brother Tim, sister Jacquie and wife Phyllis Marino Rochford. Bill will be cherished by a large extended family; Son-in-law and grandchildren, John Bahr, Grace Bahr and Zachary William Bahr (who Bill affectionately called Will after himself). His arms reach his nieces and nephews in the Rochford and Marino family tree. He was a smart stoic force for all. His best friend and companion Gerry Winter and her family join the Rochford family in their time of loss.

Bill graduated from high school early and went on to attend Purdue University. (A rivalry he never saw against his daughter's alma mater OSU). He obtained his master's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington.

Bill had a long and distinguished career in fossil fuel power generation as a site manager and project manager for Babcock & Wilcox, a McDermott Company in Barberton OH. He also worked for them in nuclear fuel for the US Navy. The highlight of his career is the 12+ years he worked as a site manager in Beijing China and Mexico City Mexico. Bill went on to consult in fossil fuel sites in various assignments in the US.

He enjoyed his retirement with years of fishing, stories of the Coast Gaurd, martini Mondays with his friends and a backyard full of family at the pool. He passed peacefully as we reminisced through all these times. May he rest eternally with the Lord.

There will be no services as the family has decided on a private gathering.
