Shirley Ann Ingersoll (Myers), 84, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Shirley was born on March 27, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Nell Smith and Paul Myers.
Alongside her loving husband, William D. Ingersoll Jr., she raised five children who became a central part to her life's story. She was a loving mother to five children: Theresa Nelson (née Ingersoll), Christine (James) Dowdell, Wayne Ingersoll, Amy Johnson (née Ingersoll), and Michelle Ingersoll.
She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Nothing brought Shirley greater happiness than spending time with her family.
Her childlike spirit and sense of wonder allowed her to form especially close bonds with her grandchildren. She loved sharing her hobbies and teaching them new things, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it was fishing, cooking, knitting, playing card games, or introducing them to video games, she made every moment an opportunity to create lasting memories and valuable life lessons.
A woman of deep faith, Shirley enjoyed attending church and valued the friendship and sense of community it brought to her life. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, and video games. She was also an avid and loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nell Smith and Paul Myers, and her siblings, Ralph Myers, Jerry Myers, Lucille Dalrymple (née Myers), and Peggy Hoffman (née Myers).
