Roy Alan Wilmoth II, 55, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2025, just days before his 56th birthday. Born on June 29, 1969, in Toledo, Ohio, Roy brought light and warmth into the lives of all who knew him. The son of the late Dietra and Roy Wilmoth, he is lovingly remembered by his children, Amber Miller, Ashlee Wilmoth, Autumn Wilmoth, Nicholas Wilmoth, and Jesse Wilmoth. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Wilmoth.
Roy's heart was as big as his personality. Those close to him describe him as genuine and caring, never hesitating to lend a hand or brighten someone's day with kind words or a simple gesture. His career as a Registered Nurse was a natural fit, as Roy truly loved helping people. Whether it was in his work place or among friends and neighbors, he approached every situation with compassion and a steady reassurance that put others at ease. Before nursing Roy was a gifted auto mechanic, a passion that grew. He worked for decades, keeping countless vehicles running smoothly and making lasting connections with his customers and colleagues. He took pride in making sure families had a safe and reliable vehicle. He was known for his ability to solve any mechanical puzzle, always going the extra mile to ensure the job was done right.
When Roy wasn't working, he could often be found out on the water, fishing rod in hand. Fishing wasn't just a hobby for him; it was a passion that brought him peace and joy, and he relished sharing it with his family and friends. Many of his happiest memories were formed on riverbanks and lakesides, swapping stories and reveling in the quiet company of those he loved.
Roy's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and love-a big heart that embraced life and those around him, and a presence that will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. His spirit will live on in the cherished memories of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
In honoring Roy's memory, may we all be inspired to show a little more compassion, offer a helping hand, and cherish the simple joys in life, just as Roy did
