Patrick Lockert Byrne Passed away peacefully on 7/7/2025 at the age of 70. Father to Terianne Violet Siegfried (Byrne) and Sean Lockert Byrne. Preceded in death by his Father Terrence Lockert Byrne, mother Violet Marie Byrne (Plunkett), and brother Timothy Paul Byrne.
Patrick Byrne was born in Toledo Ohio
5/12/1955. He came from a large military family of 6 kids. His brother Tim and sisters Mickey, Kelly, Kasey, and Becky all loved him very much and looked up to him growing up. As he aged they all took turns being a place of solace for him and remained very close. As kids of a military family, they traveled the world together which helped keep them close as they grew up. They lived in places all over the US as well as Italy. He even briefly stayed in Germany, although not by choice.
Growing up Pat, as some would call him, was a wild man. He had many crazy stories to tell about his younger years. Most of them involved avoiding death, like when he and Tim flipped his car in Italy and it nearly took off his head. His favorite song was Bad to the Bone by George Thoroughgood. He loved to sing it at karaoke, possibly as an ode to his younger years.
"On the day I was born
The nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder
At the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up
Said, "Leave this one alone"
She could tell right away
That I was bad to the bone"
He was a loving father and doting grandfather to his grandson's Matthew and Zander. He loved joining his children and grandchildren on trips and for birthday celebrations. He especially loved doing anything that got his heart racing. One of my fondest memories was when my dad, Pat, went parasailing with Matthew and myself for Matthew's birthday. He never backed down from a chance to be like a kid again.
He had a deep love for simple pleasures cold mug or two of beer, rare burgers from places like RJ Gator's and Rosie's in West Palm Beach-and always knew the best spot for hot wings. Those meals together sparked his son's own love for good food, and shared laughs.
He collected things with personality - quirky electronic gadgets, sarcastic pins, and t-shirts that he wore like a daily commentary on life. Sean definitely inherited his collector's streak. His love for computers inspired Sean; because of him, he built his first PC and got hooked on customizing and modding games. His curiosity became Sean's foundation, and in more ways than one, he is still following his lead.
His best friend growing up, Bill Littlefield, was a rock in his life for many years. Pat awarded him the title of godfather to his children, which he took very seriously. Bill was more like a brother to my father and still is to this day. He surrounded himself with people who loved and cared about him always.
He was an amazing cook, lover of music and movies, and a beloved father, brother, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him because he
was ...
