Myrtle Barbare

April 6, 1960 — February 1, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce that Rachelle "Shelly" Barbare, surrounded by her loving family, was called home unexpectedly on February 1st , 2024.

Shelly was best known to everyone as "Mama" or "Mama Shelly" by default. With great love and great pride, she adopted many younger generations with open arms. As a caregiver by trade and by heart, her door was always open, her home always full, and her arms always outstretched to all family, friends, and neighbors. Mama was devoted and selfless until her dying breath.

She was a lover of life's simple pleasures such as sweets (especially Reese's), coffee, comfy sox and fuzzy blankets, and the TV series Friends. Her affinity for lighthouses and angels could only be recognized by those who knew her best. She was a guiding lighthouse for all those who would seek her out as an open ear to confide in. She was always willing to guide family and friends with advice and love, no hesitation. Now she is an angel on the shoulders of many as she continues to guide our way in our thoughts and hearts.

Priding herself in her love for her family, it is only befitting to call out to everyone... Shelly was preceded in life by her grandparents Frank and Otha Fowler, her mother Betty Murphy, her sisters Regina and Ronda Murphy, and brother-in-law Roger Cooper. She is forever remembered, revered, and survived by her sister Onia Cooper, her children Christopher and Tammy Barbare, Dusty and Richard Plumb, Steven and Stephanie Bade, her grandchildren Julia Plumb, Rebecca Busch, Destiny Puffenbarger, Matthew Plumb, Andy Kilroy, Cristos Dreslinski, Ethan Bade, and Allen and Alexander Barbare, her great grandchildren Zeke, Emerson, and Fin Good, her nieces and nephews Tanya Murphy (children Aurora, Gabi, and Adrian), Shena and Chad Akins (children Jenna, Carley, and Sophia), Sonya Cooper (children Kristina and Kaylee), Summer Cooper and Mike Schilling.

This is the one where we say goodbye...... till then.

A celebration of life will be announced by the family in the spring.
