Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy ("Murf") entered the cosmos on October 28, leaving behind a massive void for everyone who was lucky enough to know him. He was one of the most compassionate people around and was always there to lend a hand, a laugh, or a listening ear.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Kathleen (nee Sklar), and their three children: Melissa (Shawn Wolfe), Aaron and Aileen (Andy Strubbe). He was also the adoring Papa to granddaughters Madelyn and Cailin. Michael also leaves behind his brother David (Patricia) Murphy and sisters Susan Kuczin and Elisabeth Murphy as well as beloved extended family including, but not limited to, The Kuczins, The Modins, The Guccions, The Ross' and the Fraziers.

Michael was a former Marine veteran and certified electrician. He had a great knack for fixing almost anything and loved being outside in nature and gardening. Frequently, you could catch him out walking with his loyal dogs Mocha and Annie. He also was a fan of astrology, theosophy, reading, playing cards, Motown, the Blues, Coast to Coast AM and the occasional fine cigar and Guiness extra stout.

Michael will be remembered for his charitable and loving spirit as well as his stubborn nature and strong conviction to his beliefs. Also, he will be missed for his dad jokes and witty remarks.

He was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Delores Murphy, sister Connie, Brother T.J., niece Abby, mother in law Irene Sklar, brother in law Gary Modin and beloved father in law and friend Michael Sklar.
