Margaret Anne (Woods) Quirk, 88 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio died peacefully after a short illness on May 13, 2023.
She was born on October 4, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Robert S. and Grace M. Quirk. Margaret grew up in Mantua Ohio and later graduated with a degree in Education from Ohio Northern University. Following graduation, Margaret taught 5th and 6th grade in the Cuyahoga Falls City School system for over 30 years. She was responsible for starting the Outdoor Education Program at DeWitt Elementary School and buried a time capsule with her 5th grade class around the time DeWitt School opened (it's under the flag pole).
After her retirement from teaching, she worked at Hale Farm and Village as well as volunteered with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she played in the bell choir and was also the Wedding coordinator. Margaret enjoyed traveling throughout her life particularly with her daughter, Melissa. Together, every summer they traveled all over the world. She enjoyed camping and skiing in Colorado, driving the Alcan highway to Alaska, riding on trains around Europe and sailing on the Queen Mary.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Robert S. and Grace Quirk, and her brother, Robert F. Quirk. Margaret was a dedicated mother to Melissa (Woods) (Thomas) Johnson of Cuyahoga Falls, Grandmother to Meghan (Johnson) (Terry) Jones of Powell and Katie Johnson of Lakewood, and Great-grandmother to Cora and Nolan Jones. Margaret was greatly loved by her friends and family and will be missed by many.
