Linda Sue Cox

November 27, 1949 — January 14, 2026

Linda Sue Cox, 76, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. She was born on November 27, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia, and grew up on a small farm near Dillsboro, Indiana. A devoted mother and true world traveler, Linda loved many things in life, but none more than being a mother to her three sons.

After graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Criminal Justice, Linda worked as a police officer before marrying her husband, Edward Cox, and moving to Europe.

Linda and Ed served as missionaries for more than thirty years, living and working in Croatia, Serbia, Austria, England, and Bulgaria. During this time, Linda hosted Bible studies and fostered relationships with neighbors and members of the community.

After returning from the mission field, Linda and Ed moved to North Canton, Ohio, where Linda turned her passion for bread making, vegetable fermentation, and healthy living into a small business, where she offered nutritional cooking classes and supplies.

Linda and Ed then moved to Indiana, where they revitalized Linda's childhood farm. They enjoyed a decade of homesteading, raising cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and bountiful gardens.

In the fall of 2024, Linda and Ed moved to Kent, Ohio to be close to their son, Alex and daughter-in-law, Lorien.

Linda is survived, and will be missed, by Ed, her husband of 49 years; her sons, Michael, Alexander, and Daniel; her daughters-in-law Claudette Ngai and Lorien DeBruyn; her sisters, Sharon Probst and Patty Hankinson, brother, Daniel Cutter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Two memorial services will be held for Linda.

The first will be at Parkside Church, 5915 Rhodes Rd, Kent, Ohio, on March 27 starting at 5:30 p.m. with a light supper, then 6:30 p.m. service.

The second will be at Community Fellowship Church, 505 Bielby Rd, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on March 29, service at 4:00 p.m. followed by a light meal.
