Together Again, with the Love of Her Life
A reunion occurred in heaven this week. Karen L. Bland, 68, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026 in the comfort of her home. Preceded in Death by her husband, Paul Terry Bland, of Akron, OH, they are together once again, in heaven.
She was born on December 29, 1958 in Akron, was a 1977 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and spent her later professional years as a registration specialist for the PPG MD Office of the Cleveland Clinic. She also cleaned homes, was a server at Chi Chi's, and volunteered her time at locations like Camp Carl and Haven of Rest Ministries.
She was a member of The Chapel in Akron, was baptized, saved, and knew the Lord. Karen was known above all for her love and compassion; for those friends, family, and others that knew her, Karen would help others before herself. Family traditions and celebrating holidays would be a close second.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Paul F. Bland and Laura Holland of North Ridgeville and Stepmother Betty Jean Hart of Palm City, FL. She was preceded in death by her mother Janet A. Ralston, of Sebastian, FL, father Robert William Hart, of Palm City, Florida, and brother Richard Alan Hart, of Concord Township.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 9 at the Memorial Chapel of The Chapel of Akron's campus, 135 Fir Hill Akron, OH 44304 with pastor Karl Johnson officiating. Doors open at 5:30 with service starting at 6. Formal attire is not required, and color is appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County or to The Chapel in Akron.
