John Hood

John Robert Hood Jr. (Bob) was born on April 15, 1940, in Akron, Ohio to the late John Robert Hood Sr. and Mildred (Baun) Hood. He passed away January 2, 2026. He leaves behind son Mike (Shawn) Hood, Daughters Karen (Harry) Boyer and Belinda (Jim) Fox, grandchildren Kaitlyn (Jordan) Tomazich, Laura Hood, Justin Fox, Harry (Harlee) Boyer, Harley (Austin) Turner, great grandchildren Ameila, Brynley, Raelynn, Allora, Bayley and Cowen. John is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Joyce of 66 years.

John (Bob) was a graduate of Tallmadge High School. He owned and operated Bob Hood Crane Service and later drove tankers for Holley's Transportation. After retirement he increased his love and side job of Racehorse Trainer running at Mountaineer and Thistledown. He assisted his wife as a 4-H advisor for 20 plus years. He later became a "papa" and "great papa" which was one of his happiest and enjoyable times. He was a member of the Tallmadge Lutheran Church. Friends and family will be greeted at Tallmadge Lutheran Church Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10 am with services at 11 a.m. and a luncheon to follow. Special thanks to Crossroads Hospice and all their caregivers for the care they gave our dad.
