On May 16, 2025, James Robert Burton went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on May 28, 1952. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1970. He went on to marry the love of his life, Susan Hoffman, in 1976. They welcomed twin daughters, Jacqueline and Jessica in 1978. James loved the Lord, his family, golf, manicuring his lawn, playing the guitar, guns, and Dr. David Jeremiah. Summers on Lake Cumberland were a family tradition where he enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, car shows, and horseback riding. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, his granddaughter, Alex Hoover, his parents, Den and Roberta Burton, sisters, Laura Jean Burton and Karen Woods, and his favorite Aunt Jewel and Uncle Jim.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Micire and Jacqueline Stevens, his grandchildren, Ava Hoover, Jaxson, Jefferson, and Regan Hidvegi, and Ayden and Audrey Micire, his sister, Brenda (Burton) Fields, nieces, Bobbie White, and Melinda "Mindy" Moon, nephews, Craig and John Balnis, Tony Woods, Aunts, Pat and Becky(Kevin), loving cousins, Robin, Rhonda, and Lance, furgrandbabies, Paco "little buddy" Hidvegi, Athena "Beanie Baby" Micire, and Louis & Vuitton, and very special friend Gwendolyn "Gwenie" Gray.
A private family memorial will be held this summer at Lake Cumberland.
