Herman Matthews

Herman Edward Matthews Jr., age 58, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on January 11, 2026, after a battle with cancer.

He was born on January 10, 1968. He carried a natural humor that brought laughter to those around him.
"God gave you a fingerprint that no one else has, so you can leave an imprint that no one else can."

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman E. Matthews Sr.; his mother, Robbie L. Allred-Canada; and his brother, Anthony Allred.

He is survived by his siblings Picola Hammock, Regina Allred-Jones, Cherrice Tatum, and Jonnau Pedroza; his children Lashonda Askew, Herman Matthews III, Elijah Matthews, and Alexa Matthews; his grandchildren; a host of family and friends; and his beloved dog, Mila.
