Emma Jean Wilson, (Nee Gibson), passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children June 8th, 2025 at Windsor Manor. She was born in Wheelwright Kentucky on July 30th 1931 to Nellie (Garrett) and Earnest Gibson. She was survived by her husband of 75 years, Walter Wilson. Children, Daniel Wilson (Karla), Patty Tucker (Dave), Bonnie Ritchie, Roger Wilson Sr; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Nelly (Garrett) and Earnest Gibson, brother George E Gibson, and daughter Margaret (Wilson) Zepernick.
They moved to Ohio in 1949 to work, and raise 5 children. After retiring, they alternated their life to South Carolina, Tennessee and Barberton. She worked as a special diet cook at Barberton Citizens Hospital. They owned a restaurant in the '60's that was named "Emma's Kitchen".
She loved gardening, canning, and cooking (ask anyone who knew her, she was the "best cook in the world!") She loved her grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. Her greatest joy was going to church and serving the lord. She made sure her children were raised in a close christian home.
In her early years she loved to sing with her brother and mother and would travel to churches to spread joy and the word of God through song and testimony, then later in life with her children.
The memorial service will be July 12th at 1:00PM at Patty and Dave Tuckers, 2969 Shellhart Rd, Norton OH 44203.
