Elizabeth Ann Roberts (nee Mathias) , beloved friend, soulmate and grandmother and cat-mom, born March 16, 1949, Akron Ohio, died January 13th, 2024, Akron Ohio.
Beth was a true Renaissance Woman to all who knew her. She grew up fixing and racing cars with her father and went on to acquire a multitude of skills, all of which she excelled at. She was certified in Ceramics, was an accomplished seamstress, DIY practitioner and beautician. For most of her adult life she owned and ran a successful Salon but had many other active interests. She made crafts and clothes for friends and family and sold them at several well-known craft markets in the area. She made kids furniture and quilts for her grandchildren and painted as a hobby. She also worked in a floral shop simply for the joy of it. Perhaps most important of all though, were her and Robert's cats, Mitzi, Patch and Munchie.
She most loved to spend time with her soulmate, Robert Gross (1939-2023) and traveling with him. When traveling, she could fish with the best of them, and was well-practiced at surf-fishing, fly-fishing and just plain "fishin'". When they weren't traveling, she was renovating the kitchen, bedrooms or deck or working in the garden of the house they shared in Cuyahoga Falls. They also loved to go out for dinner, most recently at their favorite place, Papa Joe's.
She is survived by the family that loved her; Michael Gross, son of Robert; "Grandchildren" Taylor, Nicholas and Robert along with her cat "Munchie". She had many, many friends, all who loved her and miss her. Among them were close friends Sally Coburn and Lori Lile, Ron and Sandy Smith of Naples, FL and Robby and Beckie Thomas of Hightstown, NJ.
There were no services as she chose to be cremated, however donations may be made to any animal-supporting organizations if you wish.
