Christopher Scott Gongaware passed away on December 27th, 2022 at the age of 58 after a battle with liver cancer. Chris grew up in Stow, Ohio and attended Walsh Jesuit High School. He later graduated from Stow-Monroe Falls High School in 1982.
Chris had a passion for all things nature and was a highly skilled arborist. He was a mentor for many in his field of tree work. He found joy in cooking, woodworking and watching the Cleveland Indians. Chris was known for his quick and witty responses. He always remained full of positivity even on the darkest of days. He was never one to complain or judge and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Chris is survived by his children, Aishia Gongaware, Dalton Gongaware (Blair Weaver), and Krystie Blevins (Bret). He was a proud papa to his grandchildren, Beau Blevins, Rhiannon Neidert, Alaina Blevins and Harper Gongaware. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Stacey Gongaware; His father, Scott Brandy (Linda) and stepfather, George Gongaware (Valerie); His sister, Jennifer Lucas (Neil); His aunt, Jackie Burkley. As well as his nieces and nephews, Rileigh Lucas, Kayla Disantis (Jon), Cody Chambers (Cayley) and Jacob Hagan; and many cousins and close friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Gongaware; His grandparents, George and Betty Blocksom; His mother in-law, Kathryn Smerk and uncle, Samuel Olds.
To respect Chris' wishes no services will be held. There will be a private celebration of life for the family at a later date.
