Betty Jean Rucker, 92, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026 listening to Elvis gospel music.

Betty was born on August 1, 1934, in Wallace, West Virginia. She spent the majority of her life in Akron, Ohio, where she built a beautiful life centered around her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her family was truly the heart of her world.

Betty spent years working at Roger's Manufacturing, Falls Stamping & Welding, The Corral, and AA Blueprint before retiring to her favorite role of all, a fulltime grandmother.

A woman who loved music and having a good time, Betty enjoyed singing and dancing. She also spent years singing for a band on stage.

Her love for Elvis Presley was well known to everyone who knew her and was just one of the many things that made her uniquely Betty.

After retirement, Betty enjoyed traveling and loved spending time out West, while always enjoying her trips back "home" to West Virginia.

Betty was famous for cooking for her friends and family and was especially known for her peanut butter fudge and homemade frosting.

She enjoyed having her family together and her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. Betty loved preparing a big Thanksgiving dinner for her family to enjoy. After a full belly and a happy heart, she enjoyed settling in for a game of Euchre - a game where everyone wanted Betty as their partner.

Betty will be deeply missed by her four children, Nahlon (Debbi) White, Vicki (Kerry) Justice, Crystal (Tommy) McDowell, and Velvet (Richard) Musarra; her seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild expected in January.

Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her love of music, her cooking, her competitive spirit at the Euchre table, and most importantly, the love she gave so freely to those around her.

Betty's love and memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.

Cremation has taken place.
